ArtRole’s 2nd trip to Iraqi Kurdistan: May 2008
ArtRole’s second trip to Iraqi Kurdistan in May-June 2008 was an important visit as it enabled artists to further develop the art projects they initiated following their first visit to Iraq-Kurdistan. Artists were joined by Anna Bowman Education Curator Yorkshire Sculpture Park UK and from the UK Richard Wilson, Anna Bowman, Anne Bean, Adalet R. Garmiany and alongside the American photographer Susan Meiselas, Nancy Buchanan.
This second visit was organised in collaboration with the KRG Ministry of Environment, the Alla Centre for Cultural Activity, and the College of Fine Arts in Erbil. Further activities took place at the Red Jail Museum and the Aram Gallery in Sulaymaniyah.
